“Dry contact” sensor

  • All-weather performance, IP67
  • Maintenance free (turn on and forgot)
  • Periodically confirms that it is armed (sends a status message)

"Dry contact" is a slang term in the field of industrial automation and signaling, denoting a discrete output signal of a device. The word "dry" means that there is no voltage at the dry contact terminals unless the terminals are connected to other equipment. It is understood that, in addition to the absence of voltage sources in the dry contact circuit, the dry contact circuit is galvanically isolated from other external electrical contacts of the device.
Examples of dry contacts are the mechanical contacts of a relay, limit switch, or button. As a rule, one dry contact occupies two terminals of the device, which are closed or opened in accordance with the logic of the device.
By connecting the sensor to a dry contact, you will receive a message about each status change - closed / open. When a reed switch is connected, the sensor can work as a door opening sensor. If you add a contact group to the «dry contact» sensor, you get a leakage sensor.
